My first SOLO

9/2/2003  Today I earned my Private Pilot License.... for Aircraft single engine land... What a blast.. slow flight, steep turns, short and soft field take off and landings and a diversion as well as some other cool stuff...  Unusual Attitudes are very interesting...
Here are my first set of wings... FINALLY, I've only been chasing them for the last 10 years of my life.. Now I have a license to learn..

No more bars for this one.... But I get to start CFI in a couple of weeks.
I am going to take some time off now and get some much needed rest!

5-5-04  Time is coming to an end for my CFI rating... I hope to be able to fill this
square in the next week!!!

UPDATE 5-20-04  After a week awaiting an opening,  I completed my check ride and was awarded my CFI!!!! I should be starting my last rating the end of this month. CFII and should take about a month.  I am really looking forward to getting back into the IFR environment... Lazy 8's and chandelles aren't really my thing, but Instrument approaches. holds, and procedure turns really light my fire.

DONE!!! 7/7/2004  CFI-Instrument

Total time from start to finish, just under 1 year from ZERO time... Something
like this would have never been possible without the hard work and dedication
from the Instructors I have had along the way at DCA...
Here is my way to say thank you to these outstanding individuals!

UPDATE!!! 12/09/2004

Some of you have asked what's the ending to this story?  Well, I returned back to DCA after a 4 month "standz break" to join the standardization class to prepare me as an employee of the academy.  First day was meet and greet, followed by my flight on the weekend.  Naturally I was extremely nervous, but managed to pull myself together and had a good flight.  After that weekend, it was back into the classroom and MANY long hours of studying.  I took 4 tests and did very well on all of them.  I have been offered a position here at the Sanford school starting out in the Instrument group!  I am very excited to be allowed to stay here and help others reach their goals as those that worked so hard helping me reach mine!               ....In the end, It's all about the Passion of Flight!!!
